Blogazines are going to be huge for a lot of reasons. Allow me to elaborate*.
In the short term, it’s because of Smashing Magazine’s article called The Death of the Boring Blog Post in November 2009.
Shortly after Mashable profiled blogazines as one of 10 News Media Content Trends To Watch in 2010.
Both websites are leaders in online journalism and social media and being mentioned by one is enough hype in itself to start a trend. Five days after Mashable’s article, the number of searches for the word “blogazine” increased 1800%.
The long term success of blogazines will be because they are awesome and more interesting to read! The turning point will come when the content on blogazines begin to compete with blogs. Content still reigns king on the internet.

A few days ago, I thought I was particularly clever, dreaming up a new term for the hybrid blog-magazine that’s now appearing all over the Web: magazog.
